Objectives of Senior High School
Senior High School (SHS) refers to Grade 11 and 12, the last two years of the K to 12
Basic Education Program. In SHS, students are required to go through the core curriculum
and subjects under a track of their choice. The SHS Curriculum, as part of the K to 12
programs, aims to produce graduates who have the following characteristics:
- Holistically developed

Equipped with 21 st century skills (i.e. learning and innovation skills, life and career
skills, communication skills, and information media and technology skills); and

Prepared for the future, be it in pursuit of higher education or acquisition of middle-
level skills or geared towards employment or entrepreneurship.
STUDENT OUTCOMES
Upon completion of the SHS program, students in:
ABM (Accountancy, Business and Management) Strand should be able to:

Develop proficiency in core business subjects like accounting, business mathematics,
and organizational management.

Gain analytical and problem-solving skills to make sound business decisions.

Enhance critical thinking and decision-making abilities in financial situations.

Communicate effectively, both written and oral, in a business setting.

Demonstrate leadership and teamwork skills for collaboration in business environments.

Be prepared for college programs in business administration, accounting, marketing, and entrepreneurship.

Develop a strong foundation for careers in accounting, finance, marketing, human resource management, and other business fields.
HUMSS (Humanities and Social Sciences) Strand should be able to:

Develop a strong foundation in social sciences like history, psychology, and sociology, and humanities subjects like literature, philosophy, and the arts.

Enhance critical thinking, analysis, and research skills to examine social issues and historical events.

Strengthen communication and writing skills for clear and persuasive expression.

Foster creativity and innovative thinking through exposure to various arts and disciplines.

Develop a deeper understanding of human behavior, cultures, and societies.

Be prepared for college programs in social sciences, humanities, education, law, and communication arts.
